Sandy Wright - guitar, vocals

Sandy Wright, an Edinburgh man, has played guitar with most of Scotland's finest jazz and traditional musicians. He is also a noted composer, songwriter and teacher. His influences range from 'Peerie' Willie Johnson and Django, to Dylan, Hendrix, and Hank Williams. These eclectic tastes make Sandy a much sought after multi-stylist.

Sandy is well regarded as a songwriter and his songs have been recorded by the likes of Tam White. He is also currently working on a number of solo projects that showcase his music; firstly on the electric guitar, playing self-composed tunes under the pseudonym The Space Cowboy and secondly, writing songs in a different vein under the title Hank McWilliams. These are again an eclectic mix of modern and traditional and are both ingenious and fresh to say the least.

With an ITV documentary Gold Fever, and a Channel 4 drama "Gamerz" under his musical belt in the last twelve months, Sandy's songs have been on TV, in a movie, on the airwaves and recorded by Gina Rae, Kris Drever, Sophie Bancroft, Niki King and Aberfeldy to name a few. Now with his own band, Abernethy, he is set to perform his own songs and release his first album—"The Hits"—early next year.
